What will retirement mean for you? Kristi Nielsen, Retirement Coach and author of the retirement book "Retirement Inspirement" goes head-to-head with archaic models of retirement usually presented by the financial industry and evident in many retirement books. If you are looking for a retirement book that will inspire you to live an active and meaningful retirement.

Most boomers reject traditional retirement. They already know they don't want to be put out to pasture, or snooze with the TV remote in hand.
What will the NEW RETIREMENT look like?
Some boomers say they are financially able ready to retire. Will finances force boomers to accept a less than satisfactory retirement? Are the barriers REAL or PERCEIVED?
Kristi Nielsen interviewed dozens of employers, large and small, union and non-unionized. Some of their comments may surprise you as much as they surprised Kristi.
What can you do if something hits you out of left field Can you manage change? What are the choices? Is retirement a game of chance? Can you even prepare for changes you can't predict?
We already know that the new retirement defined by the baby boomers will be significantly different than the retirement of their parent's generation. What will it be like though, as the number of seniors out numbers the number of people under age 14? Will the services seniors will expect be available?
What do SUCCESSFUL retirees say?
What do retirees say about living life to the fullest even in the bonus years?
What is possible?
Read this book and make your dreams a reality!

Retirement Inspirement
By
Kristi Nielsen
Kristi Nielsen, a certified Retirement Options coach,
has written a thorough and comprehensive book on
retirement that caters to both practitioners as well as
clients. This book is a great mix of theory, statistics,
and anecdotes to take the reader on an inspired
retirement journey. Nielsen discusses her concept of
Segue Years as described in the Nielsen Life Stage Model
where the life stages "overlay each other" to provide
the much needed concept of flexibility that Nielsen
feels is missing from other models. She defines Segue
Years as " a natural transition occurring with relative
ease leading toward increased independence and
fulfillment, from tradition al or life-long employment
to increased recreation, leisure and lifestyle changes
which may or may not include some form of income
generation ." This theme flows through the chapters and
provides a cohesive and expansive approach to the
overall theme of "inspirement".
One of the most fascinating chapters is 14, Igniting
the Power of Intent- An exercise in living well. In this
chapter Nielsen discusses the Life Clock exercise, a
wonderful "visual concept and ritual" that one can do
every day to truly and intentionally live in the moment
and track the utility of your days and ultimately your
life.
Dr. Donald Grayston, retired SFU Humanities Professor stated “It is well written, conversational, comprehensive, timely, and the discussion of topics is always well balanced. It is information packed, and well researched.”
“Kristi Nielsen's, Retirement Inspirement, will be an eye-opener not only for those currently in their "third adulthood," but for those who hope and expect to live long enough to reach that time of harvest and fulfillment. It is the fruit of long and careful thought and research on her part, and offers questions, challenges and perspectives that will point the reader to the decisions that will make their later years what most deeply they want them to be. Warmly recommended.”
Donald Grayston, PhD, Anglican priest; president, International Thomas Merton Society; former director, Institute for the Humanities, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver.

Why should I read this
book?
Dr Richard Barwell answers this question in his review of the book. He states:
It (the book) presents itself as a guide for adults at a crisis time in life, that wonderful time when the question. 'Is this really all there is?' hits home For this
group, it offers firstly a sense
of 'Wow, I am not alone' and secondly, it gives logical steps to
deal with the desire to do or be more. However, this book offers
more than that.
Teens and adolescents should use it as a developmental handbook with
ongoing visitations, either in group sessions or on their own, to
the 'Time Out' sections.
The 'Baby Boomers', who had the privilege of growing up in a time
of plenty, are currently facing the reality of limits: limits of
time (running out); money (retirement Investments are more than
savings); energy (I'm not invincible after all); and they are just
beginning to understand what the following generations have known
for quite some time, that answering the question, 'What are you
going to do now?' is not simple or easy. The techniques needed to
arrive at an answer to this question are found in this book.
'Your Life is YOUR Business' gives you the means for developing
absolute standards for your future personal life philosophy based
on values through logical, rational thought processes I recommend
this book as a resource for personal, school and family libraries
