Muskoka Fall Tours
Where to Live During Retirement:
Planning Contributes to Family Unity
Your Host Destinations offers people a unique
opportunity to not only witness, but also experience the
wealth and charm of the Muskoka Lakes area. Guests of
the tour will learn about the fascinating history of the
beautiful Muskoka Lakes both from the
perspective of the
Chippewa Natives and from the vision of the wealthy and
famous who inevitably bought up most of the land. The
tour will demonstrate the richness of the unique scenery
and rocky landscape of the region and guests will come
to understand how both tourism and the boat building
industry in the area were born out of necessity. Guests
will learn about the area's first known tourists and
will see, first hand, some of the original wooden boats
built in the area.
The tour will visit Port Carling - The Hub of the
Muskoka Lakes region, where the locks (along with the
navigational channel at Port Sandfeild) connect all
three Muskoka Lakes. In addition, guests will dine
aboard a one of A.P. Cockburns original steamships on a
2.5 hour lunch cruise from the
Muskoka Wharf in
Gravenhurst where they will view, first hand, some of
the world famous boathouses of Muskoka. Guests of the
tour will also be treated to dining experiences in such
fine and historical resorts as the Clevelands House
and(/or) the Sherwood Inn.
In addition to the fascinating Muskoka Lakes sights
and history, guests will also learn about the settlement
of the non-native Wahta Indians, have the opportunity to
learn about the area's wildlife with a visit to Aspen
Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, and will see the powerful and
majestic falls in Bala (where they will also become
privy to a story about one of Ontario's haunted Inn's).
Tour guests will be treated to a dinner cruise aboard
the MV Chippewa III in Parry Sound, where they will
learn about the history of the development of Parry
Sound and its local points of interest, such as the
nearby ghost town of Depot Harbour, the explosives
plants in Nobel and the fun side of Parry Sound, once
known as "Parry Hoot". In addition, guests will have the
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a sight-seeing
cruise in a float plane if they choose.
In addition to the lunch and dinner cruises, the
optional scenic flights, the incredible scenery, the
Muskoka boathouses, the original Muskoka watercraft, the
steamships, the wildlife, the fine dining and
information about the history of the area, tour guests
will also have the opportunity to browse through some of
the unique, small town Muskoka shops.
This is an all-inclusive tour and a "must-see" opportunity for people of all ages!
